This week I went to my first proper concert ever for a favorite music act of mine - OneRepublic! I saved up for the said show the moment it was announced that they'll be coming to the Philippines. Since it was my first concert, I chose a seat that's in the middle and has a good view of the stage. OneRepublic is one of my favorite bands ever, and I just didn't want to miss the show at all. It was in promotion of their latest album Native. The said album is one of my favorite albums this year with its honest lyrics, and the signature percussion-heavy music of the band.
I must say the band is astronomically amazing live! I swear I was screaming my lungs out to their songs like I Lived, Burning Bridges, If I Lose Myself and Preacher. There was even a portion where they did a little mash-up of Midnight City's (by M83) familiar hook to one of their most popular hits. I was very happy all throughout, and I didn't regret getting a ticket to see them live. I must say Ryan Tedder's vocals are better live, and there's nothing like singing to the songs of one of your favorite bands with everybody else who likes them! My favorite part was singing to I Lived and Burning Bridges with everyone in Araneta Colisuem.
I felt so good after the show commenced. I don't care if I wasn't able to take a lot of good photos, and I purposely left my camera in the place I'm staying. For me it was about experiencing the show, and having a good time. They should definitely come back to the country next year. Big thanks to them for ending the Asia leg of their tour in the country!
